1st Year Video

I know this video is long but it was impossible for me to delete pictures. Each one is so special to me. I couldn't get the video to upload on youtube because it is longer than 10 mintues. I am trying a new video sharing site. The quality isn't that great but it will work. Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday Brynlee!

Last Saturday we had Brynlee's 1st birthday party.  We had lots of family and friends here to help us celebrate.  I thought the party would be stressful and hectic but it really went smooth and I had a great time.  I wish I would of had more time to visit with everyone.  The final count was 19 adults and 13 kids (not counting us).  A full house, but I wouldn't have it any other way!  Enjoy this longgggg picture post!  :)

The Cake!

We also had ham and turkey sliders on homemade rolls but they were being made when Duane took this picture.
This was the only picture I have of the cookies I decotrated.  If anyone has a better picture please send it to me.  I woudl like a better one for her scrapbook.  Thanks!

The banner I made.

My best friend Courtney and her daughter Baylor...they are 3 days apart.

Thanks Mikiah and Madison for helping with the babies!

Can you tell she is tired?

She started with the chocolate...
but it didn't take her long to dig in.

Happy Birthday Brynlee!
Brynlee, Your birthday was great but it was all over so quick.  I was a little sad.  I hope you had fun.  I worked very hard to make it special for you even though you won't remember it.  You only turn 1 once so it was all worth it!  :)  Mommy loves you!

After I saw the pictures I wished I would have taken one of Brynlee with her 3 friends who were there.  (Baylor, Josie, and Bronson)  They were all born within a month of each other.  That will be something I will be sure to do next year.  I was planning on posting her 1st year video tonight but I am tired so I am going to bed.  We are going to the city tomorrow for Baylor's birthday party so we have lots to do in the morning.  I'll post her video sometime on Sunday.

What's In A Name?

When I started this blog I couldn't come up with a unique name so I just went with --------- Family News.  For the past few weeks I have been working on a video for Brynlee's first birthday.   Duane and I were throwing around song ideas and he mentioned a VERY old song by Wayne Watson.  It is called "Be In Her Eyes".   It is written from a father's perspective who wants God to be in his daughter's eyes and for everyone to see Jesus in her.  It is a great song.  I used it for her video and tonight it dawned on me...that is a PERFECT name for my blog.  So, my new blog address is http://www.beinhereyes.blogspot.com/

Playdate with sweet Baylor

Last week I went to my parents' house while Duane was in Vegas on business.  What a way to start a new job huh.  He did bring home winnings of 18 bucks.  Woo hoo!   He put 20.00 on game 3 of the Thunder/LA games.  Thanks Thunder!

Anyway, while I was at my parents, Brynlee had a play date with her friend Baylor.  She and Baylor are 3 days apart and Courtney (her mom) and I have been best friends since we were little.  She is in my top 10 of things I miss about OKC.  I am so glad that we have remained friends even though I live away.  Courtney you are a friend I could never replace and I love you very much!

Hey friend!
What's in this box?
Oh, I want to stand too.
Courtney and Baylor
Is this not the cutest crib you have ever scene?  Courtney you are so talented!
Boo Momma!
Forget those baby toys...we want to play with big kid stuff.
Is this not the cutest picture?

11 Months

The month of March was a great one.  It was when I started realizing that you were starting to actually LEARN things and I was TEACHING you.   What a great feeling!  I can't believe you will be 1 in a month.  It doesn't seem possible.  I feel like I just brought you home yesterday.  I miss you being a little bitty baby but love that your personality is developing.  You make me smile, laugh, and love life more than I ever have before.

You weigh 18lbs 12oz (20%) and are 30 inches long (95%).  Looks like you might be a tall girl.

We wrapped up our nursing sessions this month.  We made it 10 1/2 months!  I am so proud of you.  You were such a trooper and was probably ready to quit earlier but you stuck it out for me.  I do miss it but it was time.  I loved our time together just you and me.  This is just another sign that you are growing up.  I do have a picture of our last nursing session but I don't think everyone wants to see it.  I'll share it with you one of these days.

Nanny and Poppa taught you how to give 5.

You can "shake you booty" and blow kisses.

You will pick up you baby, blankie, lambie, or shakie shakie on command.  These are your favorite things.
Here you are with shakie shakie...

Oh, and ducky is another favorite

You finally out grew your baby bath tub.  You LOVE taking a bath in the big tub.

You always go to sleep with your blankie in one hand and lambie in the other.   You also like to sleep on you knees

Naptime and bedtime is soooo easy.  I turn on your music, rock you for a few minutes, and put you in your crib awake.  You never cry!  You just go right to sleep.  The entire time I was pregnant with you I prayed that you would be a good sleeper and you are!

I will probably pay for saying this sometime soon but I just have to share.  You haven't woke up (to the point I have to actually get up) in the middle of the night since Christmas when you had a cold.  If you do wake up, you will cry out for maybe 30 seconds and go right back asleep.  I actually don't think you are even awake.  It amazes me that you sleep form 8:00-8:00 every night.  You also take 3-4 hours worth of naps during the day.  Again...amazing!

I can't believe we will soon celebrate the day God gave you to us.  We thank him every day.  You are such a blessing to our family.

We love you!
Mommy and Daddy
